AI-Driven Voice of Developer

A product-signal program that groups repeated developer friction into evidence-backed roadmap opportunities.

Panel showing developer signal sources flowing into ranked roadmap priorities

The goal

A large developer platform hears directly from only a fraction of its users. Roadmaps driven by the loudest voices miss repeated friction that quietly limits adoption.

What shipped

I created and lead an AI-driven Voice of Developer program. Discord, Stack Overflow, GitHub issues, and support channels feed a system that groups repeated friction and helps the team rank roadmap opportunities. Strategic customer input and dogfood sessions add context before the team makes a product decision.

It extends the Voice of Customer program I built at Mapbox. The operating decision stayed the same: combine broad product signal with direct field work, then trace priorities back to observed developer problems.

What I learned

Repeated developer friction rarely arrives as a clean feature request. Group the evidence, then keep a human responsible for the decision.
